Self Care

Stress Awareness Day and Self-Care.

Today is #StressAwarenessDay, the aim of which is to identify and reduce stress factors in your life.

With the 2nd National lockdown starting tomorrow, most of us will be feeling high levels of stress and it can be damaging to our health.

We all have stress in our lives, some stress is good for us, it helps us to respond to changes in life.   However, too much stress can cause harm to our health and relationships.

Once we identify the cause of stress in our lives, we can begin to eliminate or reduce stress. Exercise helps us to let go of built-up anxiety. Eating a balanced diet fuels our bodies so we’re able to better cope with the stress.

We need to take care of our physical, mental and emotional well-being.

The most crucial thing you can do when you are stressed or anxious is to make sure you are continuing to look after yourself.  Make time to relax, you need to learn to say no to requests that are too much for you.

Why not use this time during lockdown to turn actions into habits, I encourage you to carry out one action a day, for your physical, mental and emotional well-being.

It takes 30 days to turn actions into habits.

Set yourself a challenge to look after yourself.  We all need to think more about self-care.  Take time out of your day to relax or do something that you enjoy.

Today, I will take time out and relax in the bath. What will you do today to take care of yourself?
